Why Spend Time Trying To Earn Online?

Often, I'll bring up the idea of earning through GPT sites (paid offers, paid surveys, etc.) or just the general idea of earning money online to friends or family. Most respond with surprise and are very doubtful. One of the first things they ask is: Why would I spend time trying to earn online when I could go get a job and earn more?

It's a legitimate question and certainly demands some analyzing of the idea of trying to gain extra income on the Internet. So let's look at some of the advantages and benefits!









Your Own Boss

The majority of people would rather have control of what they do rather than doing what they're told by their boss or supervisor. With any form of online income, YOU are the boss, YOU make the hours, YOU set the daily/weekly/monthly goals, and so on. This is by far my favorite aspect.

Be An Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship! Now obviously this isn't like starting Microsoft, but it does give one a sense of self-entitlement and a relative boost in ego. It has similarities to starting your own business, although on an obviously much smaller scale. You are the decision maker, you decide what needs to be worked on to yield the best results. In the end, you are the one who gains accomplishment. It's enjoyable, to me at least, to set out goals and actually see them becoming reality. Getting earnings from referrals, getting higher payments from Adsense, getting positive comments on the blog and in emails...it's all encouragement to continue working. To start with nothing on a free blog provider and reflect on the growth that has taken place is always a good feeling of accomplishment.

Line Your Pocket

The extra income obviously. Not much needs to be said about this. You certainly won't make enough to quit your job just by doing free offers and surveys, but you can make a decent monthly amount. Even if you don't spend much of your time, you can still bring in quality referrals and bring in a good $80 a month between a couple sites. Now, $80 isn't that much, sure...you could make that in a few hours at a normal job. But that $80 came with zero stress, much of it came from you not doing any work outside of attracting referrals, you can watch TV and listen to music while you're "working," you can take care of the kids and do a survey here and there. The opportunities are pretty endless. Not to mention that $80 is half a monthly car payment, 3/4 your monthly car insurance, a few full gas tanks, and so on. It surely helps.
